Travel to the Beautiful Country of Cuba
Organizing legal private and group Cuba travel since 2003
Want to travel to Cuba? Here is what you should know!
Cuba is one of most unique places in the world.
Cuba is roughly the size of California with 3 distinctive mountain ranges. Cuba is ranked in the top ten of the world’s most biodiverse areas due to its endemic flora and fauna. The country is divided into 15 provinces. Because of its limited roadway system and limitations on travel within Cuba, many provinces have developed very distinctive sub cultures. Cuba is very safe and clean in comparison to most Caribbean countries.
Why Travel to Cuba
Cuba is a small country with big contradictions. Cuba has had a very diverse influx of peoples from around the world. Cuba and United States have had a long controversial history. As a result, much of America’s history is entwined within the country from San Juan Hill to Hemingway to the Mafia. The last 50 years of blockades have resulted in some other unique aspects. There are no fast food or chain stores in Cuba. Much of the countryside operates as they have 50 years ago. There is no suburban sprawl. There is survival of some key industries: cigars, rum and music that still thrive to this day. The people operate daily under a social system that defies all other systems in the world. Yet the people survive with many relying on the arts (which oddly is tolerated by the government) as a secondary source of income. Music, dance art, crafts are prolific throughout the country. To get the most out of your trip, it is best that you plan ahead and with good guidance.
The people of Cuba are very proud of their history, their science, their natural resources, the flora and fauna as well as their desire to preserve and conserve. The City of Havana celebrated its 500th Anniversary in 2019. Because of Cuba’s lack of direct exposure to wars, many historical buildings are still standing. This fact and other above -mentioned factors have resulted in Cuba being awarded 9 UNESCO World Heritage sites with 3 more nominated.
